Caisse Alliance honoured for two huge donations in August

Celebrating the arrival of a new wheelchair-accessible bus at Au Château, purchased thanks to a $100,000 donation from the Caisse Alliance, were WN councillor and Au Château board member Dan Gagné, WN Mayor Kathleen Thorne Rochon, Au Château staff Nadia Larochelle and Kym Budge, Caisse Alliance staff Chantal Trudel-Falardeau, Alliance cooperative committee member Agnès Thibert, Au Château administrator Andrée Quesnel, Caisse Alliance staff Jean Leblanc and cooperative committee members Mario Rousseau and Patrice St-Martin.
On hand for the unveiling of Community Living’s new pavilion, facilitated by a $50,000 donation by Caisse Alliance, were Caisse staff Jean Leblanc, Caisse Alliance board member Ken Paquette, Community Living board members Fernand Pellerin, Angèle Jodouin and Gertrude Lajeunesse, Community Living director Sylvie Bélanger, Caisse Alliance regional manager Marcy Lemieux, Caisse Alliance cooperative committee members Agnès Dubuc Thibert and Micheline Guénette and Caisse Alliance staff Micheline Boutin.

The Caisse Alliance recently made two remarkable donations that will have a long-lasting impact for residents of the Château Home for the Aged and the people served by Community Living West Nipissing.

The first donation was highlighted during a dedication ceremony on August 6 at Community Living’s Cholette Street group home in Sturgeon Falls, where a brand new covered pavilion was unveiled. The cover was built thanks to a $50,000 contribution by the Caisse Alliance Fund, which finances “structuring projects that have a positive long-term community impact” and are led by a non-profit organization.

Community Living West Nipissing director Sylvie Bélanger beamed as she showed off the covered, 28 x 32 foot pavilion where activities and events are hosted for the 125 adults and 70 children served by the organization. “The pavilion will be the perfect outdoor space where individuals we support can gather with their families, for special occasions, birthday parties, barbecues, movie nights, etc. Many activities have been planned already,” she announced. “We are extremely grateful to the Caisse Alliance for their continued support throughout the years. Their generosity has truly made a difference.”
